Alex is a zooarchaeologist specialising in subsistence behaviour and palaeoenvironmental conditions during the Middle Stone Age. She obtained her BA in Archaeology and Psychology in 2017, BA (Hons) in Archaeology in 2018, and MSc in Archaeology in 2021 from the University of the Witwatersrand. Alex is currently doing her PhD at the University of the Witwatersrand focusing on coastal ecology, subsistence behaviour and site formation during Marine Isotope Stage 5 at coastal MSA sites Klasies River and Blombos Cave in the southern Cape. She has also participated in other national and international archaeological projects.
