The Palaeontological Scientific Trust (PAST)
The Palaeontological Scientific Trust (PAST) has graciously funded the annual SDWs since their inception in 2013. They have been our primary funder and most prominent supporters in creating unique educational experiences for archaeological students from across the Southern African Development Region (SADC). Their funding enables SAASC to create an educational platform and networking opportunity for students from all walks of life, different universities and various countries.
The Association of Southern African Professional Archaeologists (ASAPA)
The Association of Southern African Professional Archaeologists (ASAPA) has graciously funded the annual SDWs since their inception in 2013. ASAPA has served as an example of a productive and inclusive professional body in the African archaeology discipline and thus SAASS shares its similar vision with our priority placed on students and young researchers specifically.
The South African Archaeological Society
The Archaeological Society of Southern Africa (Northern Branch) was kind enough to provide additional funds for the 2018 SDW through their Northern Branch grant program. Since an international/cross-border initiative requires greater financial and logistical expenses, ArcSoc was kind enough to supplement our workshop budget.
