Justine van Heerden

Justine van Heerden recently completed her Master’s degree in archaeology at the University of Pretoria which focused on determining the effectiveness of an interactive travelling museum at providing increased access to heritage. Her current research aims to expand on the travelling museum design and broaden the impact of the outreach initiative. Justine is also a community outreach liaison at the University of Mpumalanga where she aims to share the research conducted by the Thulamela Research Project with the public. She is passionate about archaeology, community engagement and skills development. She is excited to create opportunities for SAASS members to network with peers, professionals and funders, nurture their love for archaeology, and develop skills they can apply within and beyond the discipline.
