SDW 2025 Travel Grant Application

Purpose of the Travel Grant

The SAASS Travel Grant aims to support participants from across Southern Africa in attending the 11th Annual Student Development Workshop (SDW). The grant promotes inclusivity by ensuring that distance and travel costs do not prevent participation. Due to funding limitations, a limited number of travel grants will be awarded this year.

NB Transport from Johannesburg or Nelspruit to the venue will be provided. There is no need to apply for travel funding to cover these costs.

What the Grant Covers

• SAASS will arrange and cover the cost of travel from a designated central location (e.g., airport or main bus station) to the SDW venue in Johannesburg or Mbombela.

What the Grant Does Not Cover

• Travel to and from the central departure point (e.g., your journey to the airport or bus station).

• Meals, snacks, or other incidental expenses during travel.

• Costs related to travel or accommodation outside the official SDW dates.

• Additional accommodation or local transport resulting from early arrival or late departure.

Applicants must complete the online application. The SAASS Council will coordinate travel bookings for successful applicants once final destinations are confirmed.
