Holley Shelter 2024 Excavation Season
Holley Shelter is a rock shelter, located in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. The Shelter is an important archive for understanding Middle and Later Stone Age. The project is hosted by the Senckenberg Centre for Human Evolution and Palaeoenvironment and the The University of Tübingen. It is funded by the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung.
The project is led by Dr Gregor Bader and Dr Manuel Will.
This year's season is split into two multinational groups, one excavated the site from the 18th of February to the 3rd of March, and the second will be excavating from the 5t to 24th of March.
